Kinnow Mandarins: How Pakistan Became a Global Citrus Powerhouse
Sargodha grows the world's finest Kinnow. A look at how supply, sizing and buyer preferences are reshaping the 2026 export playbook.
The Kinnow mandarin — a hybrid citrus — has quietly become Pakistan's most valuable fruit export by volume. Over 90% of the world's Kinnow is grown in the Sargodha region, where soil chemistry and winter climate produce a fruit that is unusually juicy and long-keeping.
In the 2025 – 26 season, Russian and Central Asian demand pushed prices to a five-year high. European buyers, meanwhile, have narrowed their spec to medium (56 – 64mm) and large (64 – 72mm) sizes, driving a rethink of orchard grading.
We work directly with grower cooperatives to secure fruit that meets these tightening specs. Fruit is washed, waxed and cold-treated in-house, then packed to buyer-specification cartons or mesh bags for containerised shipping.
